The aim of this program is to strengthen comprehensively the countermeasures against infectious diseases to prevent people in Japan and the world from infectious diseases; thus, contributing to overcome the public health problems. To achieve this issue, the program  supports to promote domestic and global infectious disease R&D, including basic research, basic manufacturing technologies, and research for practical applications (such as developing the diagnostics, treatments, and preventions) that contribute to control infectious diseases.
