The Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) will host a side event during the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9). AMED has been providing seamless support for medical research and development—covering everything from basic science to practical application since its establishment in 2015. Our support extends to projects conducted in Africa, where AMED tackles global health challenges that cannot be solved by a single country or region alone. At the event, presenters will introduce several initiatives from international joint research projects between African countries and Japan that have been supported by AMED. A panel discussion titled “Seamless and Continuous Support and Strengthening Collaboration” will also be held to exchange views on deepening partnerships. We hope this event will further strengthen and advance collaboration in health and medical research.
