The Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) established the AMED Singapore Office on 27th June 2016. To mark this occasion, AMED co-organized an opening reception for the Singapore Office together with the Embassy of Japan in Singapore.

Official Name: Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development Singapore Office

The AMED Singapore Office is located in the Singapore Science Park: a research, development and technologies hub in Singapore, set up initially under a government initiative, standing close to the National University of Singapore (NUS).

The main roles of the office are collecting information and trends on medical research; facilitating cooperation and collaboration with foreign funding agencies and institutions on medical research and development; dissemination and knowledge sharing of the results of Japan's medical research and development in the Asia and Pacific region.

This year, we are celebrating the 50th year of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan. We are making efforts to create stronger partnerships in the field of medical research and development.

AMED co-organized an opening reception for the Singapore Office together with the Embassy of Japan in Singapore on 27th June 2016. 90 guests including Mr. Lim Chuan Poh, Chairman of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and His Excellency Mr. Shinoda, the Ambassador of Japan to Singapore attended the reception.

Guests from governmental organizations, universities and institutes, companies in the medical field and several news media attended to celebrate the opening of the Singapore Office.
