AMED and the Department of Science and Technology of the Republic of India (DST) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on research collaboration

In March 2026, the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) (Dr. NAKAGAMA Hitoshi, President) and the Department of Science and Technology of the Republic of India (DST) (Prof. Abhay KARANDIKAR, Secretary​​) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) (Dr. Rajiv BAHL​, Secretary DHR and Director General) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on research collaboration.

The MOC was presented at a ceremony held in New Delhi on May 4, 2026, in the presence of the Minister in charge of Healthcare Policy, Ms. ONODA Kimi, and the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra SINGH. Moving forward, we will promote collaboration in science and technology and medical research and development between Japan and India through joint activities including seminars, workshops, and personnel exchanges.
