AMED Global Hub (Boston) Has Officially Commenced Operations

On September 1, 2026, Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) officially opened the AMED Global Hub (Boston) and began operations in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
To commemorate this milestone, AMED co-hosted a reception with the Consulate-General of Japan in Boston on the same day, where the Hub's activities and mission were introduced to guests.

By leveraging the networks established within the Boston-centered life sciences ecosystem and sharing the latest developments with stakeholders in Japan, the Hub aims to support the global expansion of Japanese biotech startups and facilitate their entry into international markets.

Reception Event

On September 1, 2026 (local time), AMED and the Consulate-General of Japan in Boston co-hosted a J-Nexus* reception attended by approximately 100 guests, including representatives of government-related organizations, researchers from universities and research institutions, venture capital firms, and Boston-area business leaders.
With Consul General Takahashi in attendance, the event provided an opportunity to introduce the activities and objectives of the AMED Global Hub (Boston) and to engage with key stakeholders in the regional innovation ecosystem.
