Overseas organizations and global consortiums Collaboration with European Research Council under the Implementing Agreement

Overview

This collaboration enables researchers receiving support under AMED-funded projects (hereinafter referred to as “AMED-supported researchers”) to collaborate with European research teams already supported through the EU-funded ERC grants (hereinafter referred to as “ERC-supported European teams”).

This initiative aims to facilitate researcher interactions, promote skill development, and foster collaborations that enhance current AMED R&D efforts. Through discussion and collaboration with ERC-supported European teams, AMED-supported researchers are expected to expand their international networks, incorporate new perspectives and approaches, and enhance ongoing AMED R&D projects.

AMED and the European Commission signed the implementing arrangement in 2020 and began the research collaboration with ERC since 2021.
