Memorandum of Cooperation signed with A*STAR

On March 16, 2016 in Singapore (local time), the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED; President: Makoto Suematsu) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR; Chairman: Lim Chuan Poh).

A*STAR is an agency that plays a pivotal role in Singapore’s science and technology, promoting research and development in those fields. By signing an MOC with A*STAR, AMED has also opened up cooperative relationships with the Biomedical Research Council (BMRC), a research support function within A*STAR, and the National Medical Research Council (NMRC), with which A*STAR collaborates. Extensive cooperation with Singapore is therefore anticipated to take place in the biomedical field ranging from basic to clinical research.

Based on the MOC, a workshop will be held to discuss concrete collaborative activities. It is also planned to conduct cooperative research, joint seminars and symposia, and exchange of personnel and researchers.
