Programs Department of Health and Clinical Data
Overview
Department of Health and Clinical Data consists of three divisions, which are namely the Division of Genomic Medicine, the Division of Health and Clinical Data, and the Division of Data Sharing and Medical Art.
Aiming for the realization of genomic and personalized medicine, these divisions promote the infrastructure and utilization of genomic data and health care/medical data, and R&D relating to the prevention of onset/severe, diagnosis, and medical treatment of various disease based on a personal life stage. Therefore, this department supports some researches, which are the correlations between genetic mutations/polymorphisms and onset of disease, the implementation of novel diagnosis/intervention using the registration based on medical data, ICT and AI, and so on, and the collection of data through the improvement of intangible medical technology and its relating various system. Finally, this department tackles to promote data sharing various result created from these researches.
Division of Genomic Medicine
The Division of Genomic Medicine promotes the medical R&D based on various analysis from genomic data, and the governance of research environment for the infrastructure and utilization of health care/medical data including genomic data. By the encouragement to utilize those data, this division supports some researches to contribute various disease onset, prevention from serious illness, diagnosis, and therapy, which are corelated to between genetic mutation and polymorphism and various disease onset, overlooking a personal life-stage.
Division of Health and Clinical Data
The Division of Health and Clinical Data utilizes the health care/medical data of individuals through the stages of life to put novel prevention/diagnosis/treatment methods into practice. It develops the foundational data platform required for this end, and advances R&D related to ICT and AI using these data.
Division of Data Sharing and Medical Art
The Division of Data Sharing and Medical Art promotes the R&D of medical technology that contributes to prevention of onset/severe progression, diagnosis and treatment for diseases from the life stage perspective, by promoting the foundation arrangement and the utilization of genomic data and the health care/medical data of cancer and intractable diseases, dementia, and lifestyle-related diseases. This division also promotes research that aims to improve intangible medical technology and its relating various system through data collection.
