Overview
The Division of Basic Medical Research supports basic R&D to elucidate the functions of life phenomena, such as brain function, immunity, and aging, and the mechanisms of various diseases with an emphasis on those that pose current and future social challenges in Japan. The division aims to support basic research that will produce results that will lead to clinical application by linking with other projects’ R&D and clinical R&D.
