The Japan-Korea Joint Symposium (The 2nd KHIDI-AMED Joint Symposium) was held in Seoul, Korea on 5th November 2024, focusing on the early diagnosis and treatment of dementia.

This symposium was co-organized by AMED and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI). Eight experts from Japan and Korea participated, presenting the latest research and development trends, achievements, and insights into the diagnosis and treatment of dementia. Additionally, a panel discussion on the future direction of dementia research, from discovery to implementation, was conducted.

This year's symposium saw a total of 190 participants, both in-person and online. Participants included representatives from universities, research institutions, and companies from both Japan and Korea.

We will continue to advance research collaboration with various countries by leveraging international networks.
