News Releases & Research Results

The Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED; President: Makoto Suematsu) and the Secretariat of State for Research, Development and Innovation (SEIDI; Secretary: Carmen Vela), Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Kingdom of Spain have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC). A signing ceremony was held at AMED’s headquarters on April 5, 2017.

SEIDI, a Spanish government organization, is responsible for the allocation of research and development funds and provides guidance to and supervises research institutes including those in the fields of biology and medicine. Based on the MOC signed with SEIDI, AMED aims to strengthen collaboration and promote the exchange of researchers with Spain in the fields of biology and medicine. In December 2016, a workshop themed on nano-medicine was held, and will be followed by many more collaborative schemes including exchange programs, joint seminars and symposia, and cooperative research programs.

The signed MOC documents will be exchanged at a later date.
