News Releases & Research Results Development of a novel transplantation model for regenerative medicine - To promote iPS cell-based transplantation medicine -

News Releases & Research Results

Outline

The results of research and development project conducted by Professor Ken-ichiro Seino of the Institute for Genetic Medicine, Hokkaido University.

The key results of R&D are as follows:

  • A mouse skin transplantation model was successfully developed to reproduce the immunoreactions upon transplantation of iPS cells.
  • Using the model, immune responses that may occur upon transplantation of iPS cells were analyzed, demonstrating the infiltration of immune cells into grafts and rejection due to the immunoreactions of T cells.
  • The results of this R&D project should facilitate the development of an effective immunoregulatory method for regenerative medicine.

This program was conducted with the support of the Research Center Network for Realization of Regenerative Medicine by AMED.

The results of this R&D project were published in Scientific Reports on August 11.
