Research Integrity The Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Education Program

As a part of its effort to prevent fraudulent behavior in advance and to promote fair research activities, AMED will now require researchers who are part of research activities funded by research expenditures controlled by AMED to complete the RCR Program and submit their completion status. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Program and study materials

  • CITI Japan e-learning program CITI Japan Home Page
  • “For the Sound Development of Science - The Attitude of a Conscientious Scientist” (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science “For the Sound Development of Science” Editorial committee)
  • Programs in which research institutes deem are equivalent in content to the above programs

Participants applicable

Researchers who are determined by respective research institutes as materially taking part in research activities funded by AMED.

Attending the program and reporting completion status

In principle, participants should take the program in the initial year of their research and development, and continue as appropriate. (See “Q&A” for past completion history)

Research institutes are required to have their applicable participants take the RCR Program through its programs and materials, and report their completion status to AMED. If applicable participants are in subcontracted institutions, the consigning institution should be responsible for the reporting.
