Public offering content

Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) is pleased to announce Japan-Germany joint grant call for proposals in the field of "Neuroscience - Computational Connectomics" on SICORP in collaboration with the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft e.V (DFG). This is the first joint funding program after Letter of Intent that was signed between AMED and DFG on March 18, 2020.

Program summary

SICORP provides support for international joint research projects on the basis of equal partnership in countries,regions,and fields of cooperation that have been designated as particularly important by the Ministry of Education,Culture,Sports,Science and Technology (MEXT) on the basis of intergovernmental agreements,in collaboration with funding agencies in the countries concerned.

The aim of this program is to contribute solutions to challenges facing world today and to bolster Japan’s scientific and technological capabilities through collaboration with a broad range of countries.
This program, with a view to disseminating excellent research results of our country to the world, expects to achieve synergies and develop mutually by collaborating with foreign countries and regions in science and technology that can be a source of our competitiveness.

Eligibility

Japan-based applicants

The Japan-based Co-PI must be affiliated with a domestic Japanese University etc. and will carry out the proposed project at this institution.

The following researchers may also submit applications:

  • Researchers of foreign nationality who are affiliated with a domestic Japanese University etc. research institution.
  • Researchers who are able to bear overall responsibility for an R&D project throughout the entire project period.

How to Apply

The Japan and Germany-based co-applicants should use the application forms issued by AMED and DFG. The co-applicants from Japan and Germany shall work together to write a proposal and apply electronically as designated in [Application Guideline].

Japan-based co-applicants

Electronic submission of both Application Form and Additional Application Form (written in Japanese and/or English for only Japan-based co-applicants) though e-Rad is required by 17:00 (Japan Standard Time) on 1st July (Wed) 2020.

NOTICE: It is recomended that Applicant (Japanese Co-PI) submit these documents by 17:00 (Japanese Standard Time) on 30th June (Tue) 2020, as Applicant's institute need to confirm and approve all documents. Please be in time to finish all steps by 17:00 (Japanese Standard Time) on 1st July (Wed) 2020.
