The Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED), in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD), successfully conducted the joint call for proposals on Scaling-up of evidence-based interventions at the population level for the prevention or management of hypertension and/or diabetes. Through the AMED's peer review and GACD joint peer review, AMED has identified two outstanding research projects to fund. Nine public health research funding agencies which are members of the GACD participated in this joint call. It was the second time for AMED to participate in the entire process of the GACD joint call since AMED became a member of GACD in June 2016.
