Outline
7th GACD Implementation Science Workshop is going to be held on 5 and 6 July, 2018 in Tokyo, Japan.
In cooperation with Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD), AMED is promoting global implmentation research on chronic diseases in low and middle income countries under its Research Program on the challenges of Global Health issues. In fiscal year 2018, starting April 20, AMED is accepting proposals for the following Solicitation Themes: "Study on implementation of prevention of onset and progression of chronic diseases in low and middle income countries" (deadline: May 31), and "GACD collaborative call: Scaling-up of evidence-based interventions at the population level for the prevention or management of hypertension and/or diabetes" (deadline: September 10).
In an effort to promote implementation research on chronic diseases, AMED will invite GACD representatives to Japan and co-host with GACD and St. Luke's International University a two-day participatory workshop.

Target
Participant requirements (There is no fee for participation.)
Participants must be able to communicate in English during the workshop and must be able to submit a project summary
(※)prior to the workshop. In addition, participants must meet one of the following crieteria.
- Researchers who consider applying for Fiscal Year 2018 Research Program on the challenges of Global Health issues calls for proposals "Study on implementation of prevention of onset and progression of chronic diseases in low and middle income countries" and "GACD collaborative call: Scaling-up of evidence-based interventions at the population level for the prevention or management of hypertension and/or diabetes"
- Researchers who are conducting implementation research projects in or outside Japan.
- Researchers who plan to conduct implementation research projects in or outside Japan in the future.
※Participants are required to submit by Monday, June 18 a two-page implementation research project summary (tentative) following instructions that will be sent after the submission of application. Please contact AMED staff for detail.
Capacity
20-30 participants (registration required)
AMED and GACD will select participants based on participants' motivations if the number of applicants exceeds the capacity.
