GEM Japan Ewan Birney, GA4GH Chair, visited BioBank Japan (BBJ)

Ewan Birney visited BBJ, one of the three major biobanks in Japan managed by the AMED BioBank Japan Project for Genomic and Clinical Research. BBJ is a repository where human biological samples and their relevant information from more than 270,000 patients nationwide are systematically managed.
Professor Yoshinori Murakami, the University of Tokyo, took him to an institutional tour to introduce the robust building under strict security.
