Overview

Able to convey dynamic and realistic high-resolution images, 8K technology has tremendous potential in the field of medicine in terms of the realization of innovative healthcare services.

An endoscopic system utilizing 8K technology is expected to be developed for practical use as it has the potential to be safer and more durable than conventional systems and as such may change the way surgery is performed.

Furthermore, the technology may also contribute to the advancement of Japan-made medical devices that will bring about changes in clinical settings by verifying the medical effectiveness of the proposed endoscopic system, which will support clinical practice, through the deployment of artificial intelligence technology that uses high-definition medical imaging data.

This program verifies the medical effectiveness of the proposed endoscopic system utilizing 8K technology and examines how the quality of medicine can be improved by utilizing high-definition medical imaging data. The program also involves research into a medical artificial intelligence system that supports endoscopic practice by collecting and analyzing high-definition medical imaging data.
