Completed Project for Registry of Ethical Review Committees

“Ethical Guidelines for Medical and Health Research Involving Human Subjects" was promulgated on December 22, 2014 by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW). The guidelines stipulate the following: the organizer of Ethical Review Committees should publicize committee regulations and list of committee members by registering them in the Ethical Review Committee Reporting System (hereinafter referred to as “the System"). Organizers should also register the status and the summary of meetings into the system more than once a year.

This program is intended to track, follow and publicize the activities of Ethical Review Committees by using the system. The system therefore maintains the quality and transparency of committee reviews.

Those data and documents registered into the System are also used for the relevant projects, such as the Project for the Certification of Ethical Review Committees.
