This project promotes platform technology for drug discovery and development, with the goal of creating innovative drugs. In practice, this refers to the promotion of research to accelerate and streamline the drug development process, as a way of contributing to the optimization of new drug candidates or other aspects of drug research and development.

Research to Accelerate and Streamline Drug Development Processes

This program supports research to construct a PPI (protein-protein interaction) inhibitor library of middle-size molecules as a next-generation compound library, and other research to promote platform technology for drug discovery and development.

Promotion of Drug Development through Industry-Academia Cooperation

In order to create innovative drugs, it is necessary to promote research that has originated from clinical investigations based on advanced knowledge of diseases in academia. This program supports research to create innovative drugs, such as exploration of drug targets, through collaboration with academics who perform state-of-the-art clinical investigation, and with the pharmaceutical industry.

Research for Breeding, Cultivation, and Production Technologies of Medicinal Plants

This program supports research to promote new methods in breeding, cultivation, and production technologies of medicinal plants with a view to improving the rate of domestic self-sufficiency in medicinal plants.
