Conference Report

The 2nd Japan-Singapore Joint Workshop on “Stem Cell & Immune Cell Therapy” was held in Tokyo on 26 February 2019.

The workshop, organized by AMED, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and the Life Science Innovation Network Japan, Inc. (LINK-J), invited a total of 18 scientists including 8 scientists from Japan and 10 scientists from Singapore.

Three sessions - basic research to clinical applications of stem cell, cell-based immunotherapies, and pre-clinical evaluation, e.g. development of the new approaches, evaluation methodologies, and framework of regulation for the application of cell therapy - were included in this workshop, and the future developments of stem cell and immune cell therapy were discussed based on the latest research results.

This second workshop, cooperated by AMED’s Singapore office, was held following the first one held in Singapore organized by AMED and A*STAR with the theme of ageing under the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by AMED and A*STAR in March 2016.

AMED will continue to support providing opportunities for enhancing international research collaborations.
